Reggae music never had bigger embassador outside Jamaica
than David Rodigan, who is holding up the flag since the early
Eighties at the BFBS, which is the BBC for the British Forces
that are scattered all over the world.
In recent times his legendary Rodigan`s Rockers show had
been modified into a mix of R&B, Soul and Reggae instead
of a previously pure Reggae Show.
Roots Reggae and Underground fans had certainly plenty of
reasons over the years to complain about David`s preference
for charts related Reggae. But only that way it had been possible
to preserve a 2 hour Reggae show over such a long period.
The real David Rodigan must feel sad about recent changes
and his fans will have to catch him at one of his shows in
London or anywhere in the world.
Canada, the U.S., Europe and the Caribbean are his field
and for certain, most parts of the Reggae World see David
Rodigan as one of the little godfathers of Reggae in Europe.
